You must have wide experience with PHP and MySQL, and some knowledge and experience with SNMP, XML, and interfacing with other code via APIs would be a bonus.

The role will be on a full time contract basis, based out of our offices in Hemel Hempstead, however there is also the possibility to work from home for some of the time.

Following some pretty obvious stuff (e.g. “…staff are mainly involved in implementation or operational work”), and after giving the impression that everyone that works in datacenters actually has their desk on the datafloor (“…it is generally a very artificial environment: cooled; heavily air-conditioned and artificially lit”), there are good points about how even very entry level positions give employees access to a wide range of different systems and develop what they refer to as “cross-functional” working skills.
